ARABIAN GULF - 200915-A-FC661-1240 ARABIAN GULF (Sept. 15, 2020) Operations Specialist 1st Class Anthony Darnley, assigned to Commander, Task Force (CTF) 56, fires an M2 .50 caliber machine gun aboard a Mark VI patrol craft during live-fire training in the Arabian Gulf, Sept. 15. CTF 56 is responsible for planning and execution of expeditionary missions, in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations and is deployed in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean Sea and Pacific Ocean through the Western Indian Ocean and three strategic chokepoints to the free flow of global commerce.
