U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS - (From left to right) Island-class patrol boat USCSC Baranof (WPB 1318), Iraqi offshore support vessel Al Basra (401), Kuwait Subahi-class patrol boat Naif (P312), and coastal patrol ships USS Firebolt (PC 10), USS Tempest (PC 2) and USS Hurricane (PC 3) steam in formation during a trilateral exercise with Iraq and Kuwait. The exercise is a surface engagement between the U.S. Navy, Iraqi navy and Kuwaiti navy and coast guard focused on improving proficiency in maritime security tactics to help ensure the freedom of navigation throughout the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
