MANAMA, Bahrain - Chris Kilroy, a 3rd assistant engineer aboard the dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS Washington Chambers (T-AKE 11), right, gives a tour of the ship’s engineering systems to 11 Sailors from tenant commands of U.S. Naval Forces Central Command. Washington Chambers is a part of the U.S. Navy’s Military Sealift Command which operates approximately 110 noncombatant, civilian-crewed ships that replenish U.S. Navy ships, conduct specialized missions, strategically preposition combat cargo at sea around the world and move military cargo and supplies used by deployed U.S. forces and coalition partners.
