Ensign Maris Riley, a search-and-rescue swimmer assigned to USS Gladiator (MCM 11), is lowered into the water during a man-overboard drill conducted in the Arabian Gulf. Gladiator, one of four MCM ships forward deployed to Bahrain and attached to U.S. Naval Forces Central Command's Task Force 52, is a mine sweeper/hunter-killer capable of finding, classifying and destroying mines preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
