KUWAIT NAVAL BASE, Kuwait - (April 14, 2016) Vice Adm. Kevin Donegan, Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command/U.S. 5th Fleet/Combined Maritime Forces, middle, and Maj. Gen. Khaled Abdullah, Commander, Kuwait Naval Forces, right, meet with French service members during International Mine Countermeasures Exercise (IMCMEX) 16. IMCMEX 16 is a multilateral exercise using all aspects of defensive maritime warfare including mine countermeasures, maritime security operations and maritime infrastructure protection to demonstrate the global resolve to maintain freedom of navigation and the free flow of maritime commerce throughout the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
