U.S. Marines with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) embarked with the amphibious transport dock ship USS Arlington (LPD 24) off-load from a landing craft air cushion (LCAC). The U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and Kuwait Armed Forces are conducting PHIBLEX 16, a bilateral amphibious and ground exercise, to enhance operational readiness and improve interoperability between U.S. and regional partner forces. The 26th MEU is embarked on the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group and is deployed to maintain regional security in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
