U.S. Naval Forces Central Command/5th Fleet/Combined Maritime Forces Commander Vice Adm. Brad Cooper spoke with Commander of the United Arab Emirates Naval Forces Staff Pilot Major General Saeed Bin Hamdan al Nahyan, June 9.

The leaders reaffirmed the strong defense relationship between the United States and United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the importance of naval partnership to ensure maritime security.

Cooper also expressed appreciation to Sheikh Saeed for UAE’s recent participation in exercise Iron Defender 21 and joint air operations in support of maritime surface warfare training.
