U.S. 5th Fleet provided the following readout:
Vice Adm. Brad Cooper, commander of U.S. Naval Forces Central Command/5th Fleet/Combined Maritime Forces Commander, spoke with Colonel Hisham Al-Jarrah, commander of the Royal Jordanian Naval Forces, on May 20 to reaffirm the strong naval relationship between the United States and Jordan.
The leaders discussed the importance of integration and interoperability between the navies of Jordan and the United States to ensure maritime security and stability in the Red Sea.
Cooper also thanked Aljarrah for Jordan’s continuing participation and leadership in the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF), and logistics and sustainment support to U.S. ships operating in the 5th Fleet area of operations.
