U.S. Naval Forces Central Command/5th Fleet/Combined Maritime Forces Commander Vice Adm. Samuel Paparo spoke with Under Secretary of Interior for Border Affairs (USMOIBA), Kuwait Coast Guard Rear Adm. Mubarak Salman Al-Amiri, Dec. 9.

Paparo congratulated Al-Amiri on his recent appointment as USMOIBA and reaffirmed the importance of the strong defense partnership between Kuwait and U.S. naval forces to ensuring maritime security in the Arabian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz and Gulf of Oman.

Paparo expressed appreciation to Al-Amiri for the joint maritime security patrol exercise between Kuwait Coast Guard and Naval forces with U.S. naval forces in the North Arabian Gulf in early-November, as well as Kuwait’s continued commitment to the Combined Maritime Forces.
