U.S. 5th Fleet provided the following readout:

U.S. Naval Forces Central Command/5th Fleet/Combined Maritime Forces Commander Vice Adm. Samuel Paparo met with Royal Bahrain Naval Forces (RBNF) Commander Rear Adm. Mohammed Yousif Al-Asam at the RBNF Headquarters Sept. 24. 

The leaders discussed the U.S. Navy’s vital partnership with the Kingdom of Bahrain and the importance of the two navies working together to provide maritime security in the region.

Paparo also expressed appreciation to Al-Asam for Bahrain’s participation in the Combined Maritime Forces and its willingness to be the first partner in the region to join the International Maritime Security Construct, a reflection of Bahrain’s leading role in regional stability.
