U.S. Naval Forces Central Command/5th Fleet/Combined Maritime Forces Commander Vice Adm. Samuel Paparo spoke by telephone with Vice Admiral Fahad al Ghofaily, the commander of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces Sept. 1.

The leaders reaffirmed the defense relationship between the United States and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia following the recent Fleet change of command.  

Paparo and Ghofaily discussed the importance of Saudi Arabia’s participation and leadership in the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) and International Maritime Security Construct (IMSC), which supports regional security and stability.
