History of IMX

IMX 2025 is the ninth iteration of the exercise series, demonstrating the international community’s interoperability, information sharing and commitment to maritime security in the region. Established in 2012, IMCMEX focused on maritime security from the port of origin to the port of arrival and included scenarios that ranged from mine countermeasures, maritime infrastructure protection and maritime security operations in support of civilian shipping. As it grew to become the region’s largest maritime exercise, we determined the necessity for the exercise to address the full spectrum of defense maritime warfare. International Maritime Exercise (IMX) is a multination engagement series involving partners and allies from around the world in sharing knowledge and experiences across the full spectrum of defensive maritime warfare.

IMX 2025 will build upon the successes with cooperative maritime engagements ranging from mine countermeasures (MCM) and maritime security operations (MSO) to maritime infrastructure protection (MIP). The exercise series continue to grow as we build the foundation of IMX and the decades of regional partnerships.
