July 5, 2026 - ARABIAN SEA (July 5, 2026) – The U.S. Navy suspended the active search for a Sailor assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 5 embarked aboard aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77), effective 3:00p.m. AST on July 5, 2026. The Sailor was reported missing July 1st, after an MH-60S helicopter went down in the Arabian Sea. The efforts concluded following an extensive search by the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility. The Sailor’s name is being withheld until at least 24 hours after next-of-kin notification is complete in accordance with Navy policy.

June 16, 2026 - TAMPA, Fla. (June 14, 2026) A U.S. Navy search and rescue helicopter assisted in the rescue of 14 Indian mariners in the Northern Arabian Sea, June 14. Upon receiving a distress call from the stranded mariners at approximately 2 a.m. EST, a U.S. Navy P-8 aircraft was first on scene, responded by dropping a search and rescue kit that included a life raft, which the 14 mariners boarded. Motor Vessel (M/V) Jabal Ali 9 subsequently arrived on scene and successfully recovered eleven crew members from the raft.

March 26, 2026 - A U.S. Navy Sailor was injured aboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) while the aircraft carrier was conducting flight operations in the Arabian Sea on March 25. The injury is not combat-related nor life threatening.

March 12, 2026 - On March 12, USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) experienced a fire that originated in the ship’s main laundry spaces. The cause of the fire was not combat-related and is contained.

February 9, 2026 - U.S. Naval Forces Central Command (NAVCENT)/U.S. 5th Fleet/Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) Vice Adm. Curt Renshaw met with Sultanate of Oman’s Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces key leaders during a trip to Oman, Feb. 8-9.

February 9, 2026 - U.S. Naval Forces Central Command (NAVCENT) and the Royal Saudi Naval Forces West Fleet (RSNF-WF) concluded the NAVCENT-led, bilateral exercise Indigo Defender 2026, Feb. 5.
