CMDCM (SW/AW) Scott Fleming
Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command/U.S. 5th Fleet, Command Master Chief
CMDCM Scott Fleming joined the Navy in 1986. He has completed assignments at Naval Air Station Alameda, CA (1987-89); Naval Air Station South Weymouth, MA (1990-93); Third Naval Construction Brigade Pearl Harbor, HI (1994-96); and NATO Implementation Force (IFOR), Bosnia-and-Herzegovina (1996).
He has also served in USS ENTERPRISE (1997-2000); at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, IL (2000-03); and on the staff of U.S. Sixth Fleet, Gaeta, Italy (2003-05).
His Command Master Chief tours include USS THACH (2006-08); Navy Provisional Detainee Battalion FIVE, Camp Bucca, Iraq (2008-09); Joint Task Force Guantanamo, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (2009-11); Executive Assistant to the Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (2011-13); and U.S. Naval Forces Central Command Forward Headquarters Afghanistan (2013).
He assumed his current duties as CMC of U.S. Naval Forces Central Command / U.S. FIFTH Fleet in January 2014.
CMDCM Fleming is authorized to wear the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal and Meritorious Service Medal. He is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy and the National Defense University Keystone Senior Enlisted Leader Course, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from University of Maryland University College.
