U.S. 5th Fleet provided the following readout:
U.S. Naval Forces Central Command/5th Fleet/Combined Maritime Forces Commander Vice Adm. Samuel Paparo met via video conference with His Royal Highness Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, First Deputy Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa Sept. 8 to reaffirm the enduring defense relationship between the United States and Bahrain.
The leaders discussed mutual security concerns and the importance of the long-standing U.S.-Bahrain strategic partnership.
Paparo also expressed appreciation to Prince Salman for hosting the U.S. Fifth Fleet and U.S. forces in Bahrain, and for Bahrain’s leadership during the coronavirus pandemic.
