Information for Navy Operational Support Centers

The COMUSNAVCENT OSO and staff thank all personnel at Navy Operational Support Centers for the help they give to Reservists who contribute to to the success of Navy operations in this AOR.

Guidelines for Sending Reserve Personnel to Bahrain

It is important to follow the order request process and to complete two key requirements before initiating an NROWS request for AT or ADT.

The first key requirement is timely submission of the Country Clearance request in APACS (see the Foreign Clearance Guide for more information). The Country Clearance request must be generated for each individual who plans to travel to Bahrain. More than one person may be included on the Country Clearance request, provided that all listed individuals are traveling on the same dates. Country Clearance requests MUST be submitted with a thirty-day lead time or have compelling and significant justification entered into the request for lead time any shorter than 30 days. Country Clearance requests must meet all APACs, Foreign Clearance Guide, and other required guidance for submission, including dates of courses required for entry into the AOR.

The second key requirement is timely submission of the AT/ADT application (Word .doc), after the Country Clearance request has been submitted. Follow the directions on this document. If your request is approved, you will be issued a BCN/TCN.

At this point, the applicant may start the NROWS process.

Reserve personnel who manage to arrive in Bahrain without approved Country Clearance or a BCN/TCN will be returned on the next available flight. ADT applications will not be funded without a TCN.

Compact size rental cars are authorized for all Reservists traveling to Bahrain. Car-pooling, usually 2-3 personnel per vehicle, should be used to the fullest extent possible. Work hours may vary; therefore, multiple drivers may need to be designated.

Ensure the GTCC is activated and the credit limit is at least $5,000 with at least a $1,000 cash advance for the standard two-week AT. Longer ADT orders may require higher credit and advance limits.
