MARLO EVENTS

MARLO hosts an annual MARLO Maritime Conference in Dubai and additional regional forums throughout the Middle East. At these events, commercial mariners and industry representatives from the Gulf, East Africa and Europe are invited share their views with senior leadership of the Combined Maritime Forces and other members of the maritime community.

The annual MARLO Maritime Conference in Dubai typically feature top military commanders, senior government officials, industry leaders, or experts from the maritime community. While topics vary from year to year, past speakers have discussed issues including piracy, maritime safety, and maritime crime.

In 2008 MARLO successfully hosted regional receptions in countries such as Kenya, Egypt, and Qatar. These regional forums serve to focus on a particular sub-region, country, or specific groups within the commercial maritime community. Also, these smaller meetings provide an opportunity for us to meet with individuals who may not have the opportunity to travel to the annual Dubai conference.

All of the MARLO hosted conferences and regional forums are open to the greater commercial maritime community and will not preclude attendance by those who may not happen to be from the area (sub-region/country) in which we are holding the event.

Information on future events will be emailed out and posted on this website as the details become available. If you wish to inquire about future events or wish to be added to our mailing list, please email us at marlo.bahrain@me.navy.mil.

The annual MARLO Conference and regional forums cover the Gulf Region, East African Ocean, and the Red Sea.
