Throughout my naval career I have had the privilege to fly helicopters, command squadrons, travel the world and serve my country. It was an absolute honor to earn the title of Commodore for Amphibious Squadron 8 this past May. One thing that I have realized quickly is that, although I may have flown demanding missions during Operation Desert Storm and have been incredibly challenged throughout multiple aspects of my career, serving aboard USS Iwo Jima in 5th fleet during such a critical time is no easy task. This area of the world has been full of new, complex experiences, and has definitely redefined me as a naval officer.
