ARABIAN GULF - 201011-N-KZ419-1450 ARABIAN GULF (Oct. 11, 2020) - The aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) sails in the Arabian Gulf with Mark VI patrol boats attached to Task Force (TF) 56 and Bahrain Coast Guard ships, Oct. 11. TF 56 and the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group are deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three critical chokepoints to the free flow of global commerce.
